Young PSV will play a home match against Roda JC on Monday night at 8 p.m. ET. With a win against the number three of the Jupiler League, Young PSV can take the thirteenth place at the expense of Jong FC Twente. The Tukkers will also be in action tonight, playing at home against Jong Ajax.
Unbeaten run
Darije Kalezic's team is on an impressive run. For five games in a row, Young PSV is already unbeaten. In those five games, nine points were taken. Twice Psv U21 won (0-2 at VVV-Venlo and 2-0 against Young Ajax) and three times Psv U21 drew 1-1 (MVV Maastricht, Telstar, FC Den Bosch). The most recent of the series was the away game against Den Bosch. Jort van der Sande made it 1-0 after 61 minutes, Clint Leemans put Young PSV up 1-1 in the 80th minute.
Aiming for the nacompetition
Like N.E.C., Roda JC relegated from the Eredivisie last season. They were then aiming for a direct return, but it does not look like that yet. N.E.C. became champion of the Jupiler League and already secured its place in the Eredivisie, Roda can now only achieve that through the nacompetition. The Limburgers are in third place on the league table, so the second division seems inevitable. Roda's performance in recent weeks has been erratic. Last week they won 7-0 against Helmond Sport, the week before that they lost 6-0 to Sparta Rotterdam.
Draw in Kerkrade
At the beginning of October, Young PSV visited Roda JC. At the Parkstad Limburg Stadium, Kalezic's team earned a point by drawing 1-1. Roda had already taken a 1-0 lead after seventeen minutes through a goal by Henk Dijkhuizen and for a long time it looked like it would stay that way. However, Elvio van Overbeek played a pass from Boris Cmiljanic to make it 1-1 in the 80th minute.
