Young PSV did not take any points from the duel with Go Ahead Eagles in De Adelaarshorst. In the second half, coach Peter Uneken's formation had chances to reward themselves, but the reward failed to materialize.
Few chances
Young PSV started the game with Go Ahead Eagles moderately. After more than fifteen minutes the home team took the lead via a rehearsed free kick. Sam Beukema was too quick for goalkeeper Müller. Via Dante Rigo, Young PSV came close to an equalizer, but his free kick ended just wide of the goal. Just before half time Uneken's team got off with a scare, as Jeroen Veldmate hit the post from a corner.
Double feeling
|In the second half, Young PSV came out of the dressing room stronger. Go Ahead Eagles cherished the lead, allowing Young PSV to play more football. Substitutes Kristinsson and Atonisse were close to an equalizer. With ten minutes left to play, Kristinsson was again close to the equalizer. He hit a cross instead of firing at the goal himself. Moments later Go Ahead was close to scoring 2-0, but Müller made a beautiful save on a shot by Idzes. In the final minutes Young PSV tried to pump in Go Ahead's sixteen-meter area, but no real big chances were created.
