Young PSV and Almere City do not differ much in the league table. You could see that in the opening stages on Friday night. Both teams were evenly matched and the game went up and down. The visitors were closest to a goal in the opening stages, but it was Young PSV that scored and then broke loose. After just under half an hour of play, Piroe slid in a fine PSV attack. The second goal was also good. Abouhklal rounded his man, played a perfect cross to Gakpo, who finished coolly. It was already his eleventh goal in his last six official games. It did not stop there: just before halftime Piroe scored his second of the evening.

Within a minute of halftime, Piroe had his hat trick up his sleeve. A shot by Piroe on goal seemed harmless, but Almere goalkeeper Plattel blundered and let the ball slip through his legs. And Young PSV went ahead. Ten minutes later, Piroe scored again, his fourth goal in this game. The visitors managed to score twice more in the closing minutes of the game, but it didn't get exciting anymore. Thus, Young PSV closed out 2018 with a big win.
