For the first time since 2018, Young PSV could win for the fourth time in a row. It had to get that job done against Helmond Sport, which it had lost to earlier this season. A lot has changed since then, as was evident today.
Dominant
Seventeen-year-old Kjell Peersman showed what he was made of early in the match. With a fierce taclke, he single-handedly stopped the visitors' breakout. Not much later, Fode Fofana brought Young PSV into the lead. From the corner kick he cleverly headed in. The promise dominated the first half, but the 1-0 lead remained intact.
Played Out
Mohamed Nassoh quickly changed that in the second half. After a great cross from Fedde Leysen, Nassoh rounded off with a beautiful volley. Trainer Ruud van Nistelrooy saw how his team was then able to calmly play out the match. A game in which it was hardly in danger and only shortchanged itself in the number of goals. And so the fourth victory in a row was a fact. Next Monday it travels to Amsterdam for the match against Jong Ajax.
