Young PSV did not take any points from the away match with FC Volendam. Peter Uneken's team was down to ten men before halftime after a red card for Maxime Soulas. Young PSV held out for a long time, but had to bow their heads in the closing stages.

Young PSV started the match well in the water-cold Volendam. After about ten minutes, Matthias Kjølø thought to open the score for Young PSV. His shot sailed back into the field via the underside of the crossbar. Richard Ledezma was just a toe length short of shooting in the rebound. Moments later it was the home team that managed to open the scoring. A Francesco Antonucci slide ended up behind goalkeeper Youri Roulaux. The first half progressed and FC Volendam had the initiative. After more than half an hour Maxime Soulas was unjustly sent off after an alleged foul on Martijn Kaars. With ten men, on the stroke of half-time Young PSV equalized through a brilliant peal by Ledezma.

With ten men, Young PSV came out of the dressing room well. After a wrong pass at the back of FC Volendam, Ledezma was able to take advantage. He intercepted the ball and poked it over goalkeeper Nordin Bakker: 1-2. FC Volendam had to go on the attack with one man more. The pressure increased on Roulaux's goal. After more than an hour Gijs Smal scored the equalizer. Young PSV held on well, but Nick Doodeman's unparalleled shot hit the target. Just before time Kaars made it 4-2.
