PSV lost 1-0 to Almere City on Friday night. The game seemed to be heading for a 0-0 for a long time, but came somewhat loose after the opening goal.
A match for each other
In the first half, both teams appeared to be evenly matched. The game went back and forth, but no major chances were created. Almere City did regularly fire at the goal, but often from too great a distance to trouble Koopmans. In the 28th minute Sam Lammers came closest to scoring for PSV. He broke free of his opponent after a cross from the left, but his shot went wide.
Hit from a corner
The second half began as the first half ended. In the 57th minute, Almere City was close to scoring the opening goal when Mac-Intosch steamed up from behind and suddenly found himself in front of Koopmans, but then his shot lacked power and direction. The same Mac-Intosch did it moments later. In the 68th minute he headed in after a corner. After that, Young PSV threw off their guard, which soon led to a big chance for Paal. In the last fifteen minutes Pascal Jansen's team increased the pressure, but the equalizer did not materialize.
