Young PSV failed to win the second period title in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie. The talents of coach Dennis Haar saw leader FC Den Bosch win convincingly against FC Dordrecht, while they themselves drew 2-2 against Jong Ajax.

Jong
Due to the training camps of PSV and Ajax last week, there were two very young squads on the field. For example, Young PSV started the game with debutant Tijn Daverveld against the Amsterdammers' pledges. The only 18-year-old defender saw his teammate Lennerd Daneels get the first chance of the match after 7 minutes. The Belgian, playing as a false striker, was the terminus of a Young PSV counter, but failed to promote a cross into a goal threat. After some chances followed back and forth, Jong Ajax took the lead through Pereira de Silva. The striker beat goalkeeper Youri Roulaux in two tries. Dirk Abels soon after undid that goal by tapping in the equalizer from a corner kick: 1-1.

Debutants
With that score, both teams sought the locker room. After an hour of play, the home team took the lead again, again through Pereira de Silva. This time the striker nodded the ball past Roulaux. With substitute and debutant Andrew Mendonca (for Justin Lonwijk, who recovered from injury) Young PSV started the hunt for the equalizer. They found it twenty minutes before time through Bertalan Kun. The Hungarian found the ball suddenly at his feet and with a hard shot left Ajax goalkeeper Van Bladeren defenseless: 2-2. There was no chance of winning the game after that. Not even with substitute and third debutant of the afternoon Nigel Thomas in the team.
