In the last game of the season, Young PSV played a 1-1 draw against Almere City. Fredrik Oppegård scored on behalf of the Eindhoveners. The match was mainly marked by the farewell of a number of players and staff members of Young PSV.

Spenkelink Saves
After kickoff, the ball went back and forth between the two teams for a while. With promotion still in their sights, Almere City had a lot to fight for. After a combination, the first big chance fell to the home team, but Tijn Daverveld could easily clear. Halfway through the first half it was Nigel Thomas who put Almere City goalkeeper Woud to work. With a hard shot into the crossbar he seemed to open the score, but Woud could just about reach it with his fingertips. A few minutes later, Young PSV looked hopeless in a Flevoland counter. The ball was deflected and looked like a sure goal but Mark Spenkelink had excellent reflexes twice in a row. The Eindhoven talents brought back some danger through some good running actions by Fredrik Oppegård, among others, but a goal was missing.

Tension

Young PSV came out of the locker room with venom. A few minutes after the kickoff a low cross landed at the feet of Fredrik Oppegård, who shot hard and wide. His first goal in professional football. After that, much of the offensive initiative lay with the Eindhoveners, for example Shurandy Sambo made it difficult for Woud with a hard shot. Twenty minutes before the final whistle, Almere City supporters made themselves heard with fireworks outside the stadium. During the blasts, the home team came up with a header chance and equalized; Johan Bakayoko almost came up with an answer, but his shot was saved by the Flevoland goalkeeper. Substitute Kristófer Kristinsson made another attempt from a free kick but could not score in his last game for Young PSV. In the closing minutes a breakaway by Bakayoko was blocked hard, forcing the home side to continue with ten men. From the free kick that followed, Dante Rigo shot a few centimeters over the goal. Young PSV took a point and is the highest ranked of the four young teams.

Farewell
For a dozen of Young PSV, this was the last match for the club. Mark Spenkelink, Kyan van Dorp and Kristófer Kristinsson were in the matchday squad and bid farewell today.
