With three new names and starting debutant Isaac Babadi, Young PSV traveled to provincial rival NAC Breda. The promising team had the best chances and for a long time had the better of the game, but it was unlucky in finishing. The home team took advantage and so Young PSV returned home empty-handed.

Big chances
The Rat Verlegh Stadion was almost full and so the players of Psv U21 entered the field accompanied by fireworks, cheers and chants. That was obviously not meant for them, but for opponent NAC Breda. So for starting debutant Isaac Babadi it was a true baptism of fire. In the early stages, neither team could really convince. The biggest chance was for Fredrik Oppegård, who shot the ball hard against the goalkeeper. When the home team broke through, it was right back Nathan Markelo who heroically intervened and prevented a shot. And so both teams kept each other in balance, until Antonisse broke the spell. The left-winger curled the ball past the goalkeeper from the edge of the box and put Young PSV ahead. The game was short lived, however, as NAC came alongside again just six minutes later. At the break, Simon Colyn was dangerous twice, but his efforts did not result in another lead.

Alternating play
Before halftime it was the definition of an open game, with the best chances for Young PSV. After the break, the pattern of play was more conservative and Promise had to retreat into their own sixteen more often. However, they continued to make things difficult for the home team on the counter. Falling behind after more than twenty minutes of play, they emphatically went in search of an equalizer. Just like in the first half, the best chances were again for Young PSV. When Nigel Thomas left the field with cramp, Oppegård moved forward two lines. From his new role, the left-back cut his way towards the goal, but again hit the goalkeeper. In the hunt for the equalizer, Ruud van Nistelrooy's team played with a lot of space in the back. NAC took advantage of this and put the final score on the scoreboard: 3-1.
