Psv U21 lost the last match of 2020 in unfortunate fashion. Fodé Fofana put the Eindhoveners ahead early on, but Thomas Verheijdt headed Almere City past side in the second half. Elias Sorensen provided the 1-2 in the absolute closing stages, ending 2020 with a disappointment for Young PSV.

Young PSV started with Müller in goal, Saibari wearing the captain's armband on the right arm for the first time. The match got off to a great start for Young PSV. Fode Fofana scored the opening goal after only four minutes of play. It seemed to become a nice evening for the young striker, but about twenty minutes later he had to leave the field with an injury. Until that moment, Peter Uneken's team had the upper hand, but Almere City increasingly came into the game. That led to a number of huge chances for the away team. This was the moment for Vincent Müller to distinguish himself, the German goalkeeper turned a number of balls in great fashion and ensured that Young PSV went into the break with a 1-0 lead.

At the beginning of the second half, Young PSV had the game pretty much in their hands. Müller was tested a bit less often and the Eindhoveners came out dangerous every now and then. Jeremy Antonisse and Saibari were dangerous, but did not manage to double the lead. Until twenty minutes before time, the team hardly had any major chances, but in the 73rd minute the spell was broken. Verheijdt headed the ball into the goal. The Almere selection kept banging on the door and unfortunately it did not stay with one goal. Late in injury time a shot by Sorensen was too powerful for the PSV goalkeeper and the promotion team ended up empty-handed.
