Psv U21 got only one point out of the duel with city rival FC Eindhoven. In the closing stages, coach Peter Uneken's team scored a late but questionable goal. Young PSV is now in position sixteen with 21 points from 26 matches.

Important goal just before halftime
FC Eindhoven took the initiative in the early stages of the match. Psv U21 goalkeeper Mike van de Meulenhof had to intervene several times. He did so successfully, as he kept his goal clean.

After about half an hour, Young PSV came out of their shell and had some small chances. Cyril Ngonge should have opened the scoring. Sekou Sidibe served Ngonge, but he needed too much time to put the ball behind FC Eindhoven goalkeeper Ruud Swinkels. On the stroke of halftime, Young PSV broke out once again. A splitting pass from Richard Ledezma reached Yorbe Vertessen, who left Swinkels defenseless: 0-1.

Discriminatory counter-goal
After halftime, FC Eindhoven again took the initiative. After about an hour of play, Ledezma was sent off with a red card for kicking. About five minutes later FC Eindhoven was also down to ten men. Flor van den Eynden received a second yellow card and was also allowed to shower. The home team kept the initiative, but did not create any major chances. After more than eighty minutes FC Eindhoven equalized. Van de Meulenhof appeared to stop Moses Makasi's effort, but the linesman ruled that the ball had crossed the goal line. A final offensive failed to materialize and so the city derby ended in a 1-1 draw.
