Match-winner Nicolas Isimat stood at the FOX Sports camera immediately after the match against PEC Zwolle with a big smile. "I am happy and hope the fans are happy too," he said in his now familiar mix of Dutch and English.
The French central defender signed the only goal from close range in the 93rd minute, allowing PSV to escape point loss in Zwolle. "It was an incredibly difficult game for us, but it's nice that we won after all. I think we are all incredibly tired, but the feeling now is nice."
Fortune
Phillip Cocu was by no means in a celebratory mood after the 1-0 win over PEC Zwolle. Speaking to FOX Sports, he concluded that PSV had won against the home side with fortune. "Notabene a central defender I tried to call back shot the ball in," he said. The PSV head coach saw his team play what he said was a poor game. "Football-wise it wasn't the best today, it was very poor. It will have to be much better if we want to become champions," he told FOX Sports.
At the press conference, a little later he spoke in similar words. "For most of the first half we neutralized PEC Zwolle's strengths well. Until just before halftime and we unfortunately continued that line in the second half. They experienced an incredibly good phase, while we brought far too little football-wise. We were unable to play under their pressure. The attackers could hardly create one-on-one situations," Cocu said.
