Siri Worm has been part of PSV Women for almost three years and has become an experienced force. The versatile player, who can perform in both midfield and defense, has the ambition to continue playing an important role in what has been an excellent season so far.
As a team you are doing extremely well, but your personal season is perhaps a little less than you had hoped. How are you dealing with that?
"That's true indeed. I haven't played as much as I had hoped, so on the field I haven't really been important yet. But off the field I do try to do my part. Of course, I'm one of the most experienced players, so I try to help everyone as much as possible."
Do your personal goals for this season also have to do with that?
"In part, yes. I want to get more minutes, become more important on the field. But of course as a team we also want to finish as high as possible and I want to help with that as well."
You finished the year as winter champions. What is your highlight of the first half of the season?
"I really thought the victory in the Johan Cruijff Arena over Ajax was a highlight. It was a wonderful performance and extra special because it was against a direct rival. The very convincing victory over Feyenoord in the last game before the winter break was also great. That of course makes you go into the winter break extra good."
'They are a strong footballing team and they play at home.'
We just started the second half of the season. What are your goals?
"Of course we are first, but we really look at it per game. We've been doing that all season and it's been going perfectly, so there's no reason for change."
ADO Den Haag is ahead. What do you expect from them?
"They have a new coach since the winter, but I don't think their tactics will change because of that. They are a strong footballing team and they play at home. So I assume they won't adjust their plan to our style of play."
How are you going to counter that?
"We have been playing pretty much the same way all season, regardless of the opponent. We will also do that against ADO Den Haag, because we can just play good football. We go out from our own strength."
ADO Den Haag Vrouwen - PSV Women starts Saturday at 4:30 p.m. and can be seen live on ESPN 2.
