International break | PSV'ers experience highlights at national teams

The international period was one full of highlights for many PSV players. Walter Benítez made his debut for Argentina at the age of 31 and Joey Veerman gave an assist and scored for Orange. At the same time Ricardo Pepi, Sergiño Dest and Malik Tillman won the CONCACAF Nations League with the USMNT.

Orange
Jerdy Schouten and Joey Veerman started against Scotland on the bench, but after the Volendam native's substitution, the lead increased to 4-0. From a corner, the midfielder found the head of the leaping Wout Weghorst, who scored the 3-0, promoting Joey's pass into an assist. Jerdy Schouten did not appear in action.

In the practice match with Germany, Joey and Jerdy were given starting places. Already after three minutes Joey shot the opening goal against the ropes. He went to the side just before time, while Jerdy was replaced after 75 minutes. Die Mannschaft lost 2-1 in the closing stages.

CONCACAF Nations League
Hirving Lozano (Mexico) lined up in the final of the third edition of the CONCACAF Nations League against Sergiño Dest, MalikTillman and Ricardo Pepi (USMNT). Both Hirving and Sergiño started at kickoff while Malik had to make do with a substitution. The Starts and Stripes are still considered the sole winner of the tournament with a 2-0 victory.

Bakayoko and Benítez in action
For Walter , March 26, 2024 will forever remain a special day. For the goalkeeper made his debut for Argentina during a friendly game with Costa Rica. The Central American country initially took the lead, but in the end the reigning world champion took the win.

Johan Bakayoko played more than an hour for the Red Devils in the practice international against Ireland. During the draw against England (2-2), the Belgian was not given any minutes played by national coach Domenico Tedesco.

Orange O19
Jason van Duiven, who is on loan to Almere City FC, scored the opening goal against the peers from Lithuania. Orange O19 won the first qualifying game for the European Championship next summer 4-0. Isaac Babadi and Tygo Land were not in action in that match, while Emmanuel van de Blaak and Roy Steur did. In the lost qualifying game against France (0-1), the four PSV players were all in the starting lineup. The international period ended against Belgium and that encounter ended in a 3-2 loss. Jason again accounted for the first goal of the evening.
