Gwyneth Hendriks (23) and Nina Nijstad (21) have been called up for the Orange Lionesses for the first time. National coach Andries Jonker is calling on the two PSV Women players for the international period in early April. Then Italy and Norway will be the opponents in two European Championship qualifiers.
"They are young, talented players who are doing fine in the Eredivisie. They have trained with us before and did well, so I hope they can continue that," said national coach Andries Jonker. Gwyneth is considered the captain of PSV Women and has played a total of 43 matches. Nina came over from sc Heerenveen this summer and has played 19 matches so far.
Both ladies have so far been part of the Dutch Junior Team, where PSV Women is still well represented: Lisan Alkemade, Zera Hulswit, Chimera Ripa and Maxime Snellenberg received an invitation. On April 4 and 8 they will play practice matches against Norway and Belgium respectively.
