This season, seven PSV players are playing on a rental basis for another club. We take a look at their first half of the season to see how they are doing.
Armando Obispo
Armando Obispo is still active in the Eredivisie. He made a rental move to Vitesse. There he is now an undisputed base player and has hardly missed a minute this season. At the back, the defender usually forms a duo with Danilo Doekhi. Obispo is making a stable impression with the Arnhem squad and is gaining a lot of experience at the highest level in the Netherlands. He saw action earlier this season against PSV at Philips Stadium, but his reunion with his teammates ended in a personal disappointment, as PSV managed to win 5-0.
Mauro Júnior
Mauro Júnior also plays in the Eredivisie. The midfielder is a regular and one of the standouts at Heracles Almelo. The team is in ninth place in the Eredivisie. The Brazilian is of great value to his club. With six goals and two assists, he is the most valuable player at his club after striker Cyriel Dessers. He also came face to face with PSV, in the third round of the season. The Eindhovenians visited Almelo and eventually won 0-2. Mauro started with a starting place and played eighty minutes.
Maximiliano Romero
Argentine Maximiliano Romero returned to his homeland last summer to play on a rental basis for his old club Velez Sarsfield. In his first games, he had a regular starting place. With goals and assists he managed to make the difference but in the last few games his output has diminished somewhat. He has stuck at two goals and three assists and is no longer an undisputed base player. However, his club is on an upward trend. The last three seasons the team finished in 19th, 14th and 6th place, respectively. Currently, the club is in fourth place in the Argentine league.
Dante Rigo
Two PSV players are playing at Sparta Rotterdam. One of them is Dante Rigo. The Belgian midfielder is experiencing a fine season with his club. Currently, Sparta is in eleventh place in the Eredivisie. An undisputed base player, Rigo is not yet an undisputed base player; in his nine games for the club, he started four times in the starting lineup. In the Spartans' two cup matches, Rigo started in the starting lineup both times. In the reunion with PSV at Het Kasteel in Rotterdam, Rigo came into action briefly. He entered the lines in the last minutes of the match. It ended up being 2-2. In a practice match against NEC in November, the midfielder managed to score from a direct free kick.
Joël Piroe
Striker Joël Piroe began his season at Young PSV. There he managed to score once and make three assists in two games. Then he too went for a rental period at Sparta Rotterdam and was reunited there with Dante Rigo. However, he has not yet secured a starting place. He mainly has to settle for substitutions. In practice matches, Piroe did manage to score. During a closed practice game against N.E.C., Piroe scored the opening goal after a beautiful pirouette.
Derrick Luckassen
Anderlecht is using the services of Derrick Luckassen this season. The defender still played for PSV during the Johan Cruijff Schaal game against Ajax, but then left for Brussels. The Belgian record champion is currently going through a difficult season and is in tenth place. After his arrival, he started two games on the bench, but then managed to secure a starting place that he still manages to hold on to. Luckassen is usually a central defender, but increasingly he is playing at left or right back for the Belgians. Every position in the back four he has now held at one time or another.
Hidde Jurjus
Under the crossbar at De Graafschap, Hidde Jurjus is a regular. In 2015, PSV acquired the goalkeeper from the Achterhoekers. He then played on a rental basis at Roda JC Kerkrade and twice at De Graafschap. He is currently in third place with his team, which is doing everything possible to secure promotion to the Eredivisie. The goalkeeper even has an assist to his name this season, after playing a long ball to Mohamed Hamdaoui who then scored.
