The field hockey men of Oranje Zwart were honored Friday night at Philips Stadium. The men won the Euro Hockey League, also known as the Champions League of field hockey, for the first time last week. The ceremony took place at the initiative of PSV and the municipality of Eindhoven.
Big applause
On the field, the players of Oranje Zwart were congratulated by general manager Toon Gerbrands and mayor Rob van Gijzel. All players were presented with a bouquet of flowers. Then the audience in the Philips Stadium treated the gentlemen to a big well-deserved applause.
Exciting final
In the final of the Euro Hockey League Oranje Zwart played against three-time winner UHC from Hamburg. After a blood-curdling shoot-out, the men from Eindhoven eventually emerged victorious. For PSV and the municipality a reason to honor them in the Philips Stadium for their great achievement!
