It frustrated Denzel Dumfries that PSV put in a lesser performance after a good first and second half. 'We should have finished it already,' he told FOX Sports.
Dominate
"In the first half it was good and we created enough chances. That ball has to go in then," Dumfries analyzed. Asked why it didn't come out in the second half, the captain replied that it is part of the phase PSV is in. "We are putting less pressure, fewer sprints in depth and we are not as ball-proof as we were before halftime. In the first half we dominated and didn't run away, after halftime Emmen was the superior team."
Cease
"This has to end sometime, of course," he continued. "We never give up. We always continue with our heads held high. We owe that to our fans." Dumfries' words were echoed by Daniel Schwaab. "It was a mistake that we didn't finish the chances. I thought the first half was very good from us. At halftime we stressed that we wanted to continue, but it didn't work. It's easy to say. We did try, but it wasn't like before halftime. That really has to improve," the goal scorer said.
