After the end of ADO Den Haag - PSV, Jorrit Hendrix announced that he did not want to lose in The Hague at any cost. PSV went behind twice, but fought back twice. Phillip Cocu was disappointed with the way the goals against came about.
'Didn't want to lose'
Despite the fact that the championship is already in, PSV continued to fight for a good result until the end of the match. "We didn't want to lose, even though we are already champions," Jorrit Hendrix explained the fighting spirit. "That is characteristic of us. Everyone has the same intention, even if we play with some different guys in the field."
Although PSV took the lead, things briefly went wrong after that. "We let ourselves be bluffed. We started well and got ahead, but soon after that the 1-1 came and that penalty was also very annoying. After that we played well and it was actually mostly one-way traffic."
Cocu dissatisfied
Head coach Phillip Cocu was not satisfied with the result. "On the ball it was fine, but about how we got the goals against I'm not satisfied. Two of them were far too easy. That's how you make the opponent stronger."
Still, Cocu also saw positives. "We didn't let ourselves off the hook. We went ahead and attacked, resulting in quite a few opportunities. We fought our way back every time. In the end that resulted in a draw, but there was more in it."
Hirving Lozano fell out injured after his goal. "He is back to Eindhoven for examination, there they will take a picture of his shoulder," Cocu said. "Lozano thought he could continue, but we are not taking any unnecessary risks with an eye on the World Cup coming up."
