Psv U21 won 5-0 over city rival FC Eindhoven on Monday night. It was Gudmundsson's night. The Icelander scored a hat trick, his third of the season. The other goals were scored by Locadia and Lonwijk.

In a well-filled and atmospheric Jan Louwers Stadium, both teams were very much matched. The game went up and down, but neither side created any major chances in the early stages. Locadia tried his luck from distance after about twenty minutes, but his shot was easily caught by goalkeeper Swinkels. The first danger from the home side came around the 25th minute: former PSV player Loof headed on goal from a free kick. Jurjus also saved easily. Ten minutes before halftime the goalkeeper had to intervene once more, turning away a long-distance shot. For a long time it seemed to remain 0-0, but just before half time Jansen's team took the lead. Gudmundsson scored two good shots within three minutes, giving the psv U21 team a 2-0 lead at the break.

The second half began for Gudmundsson as his first half ended: with a goal. The Icelander scored his third goal of the evening after a nice touch. It was already his third hat-trick of the season. After an hour of play, Zinchenko tried his luck from the center line, but his shot went just over. Shortly after, the home side also had a few chances. Jurjus did not have to come into action, as all attempts went over. In the closing stages FC Eindhoven tried to score an extra goal. The goal did come, but was disallowed. In extra time Locadia and substitute Lonwijk also scored. Lonwijk's goal was especially beautiful, as he lobbed the ball over the goalkeeper. The mini variant of the Lichtsstad derby ended in a 5-0 victory for Young PSV.
