With two goals, Albert Gudmundsson was the big man on the side of Young PSV. He struck just when NAC Breda was pressing: 2-0. Jürgen Locadia made his comeback after months of injury.

First chance at goal
Because of Tuesday's UEFA Youth League clash, Young PSV had to do without club leading scorer Sam Lammers and regulars Dante Rigo, Dirk Abels and Matthias Verreth against NAC Breda. Replacements came in the form of A-selection players Jürgen Locadia, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Luuk Koopmans. The latter was immediately important after three minutes of play, when he defused a big NAC Breda chance with a good reflex. In the 22nd minute, the first real danger from Young PSV was a direct hit. After Locadia initially found the goalkeeper, Albert Gudmundsson's subsequent shot flew in via a NAC Breda defender. Koopmans then repeatedly acted as a barrier for the visitors from Breda in the first half.

Nice pass Zinchenko
In the second half, NAC Breda came out of the dressing room strong and Young PSV struggled for a while, but it was again Young PSV that scored. With a fine pass, Zinchenko suddenly put Gudmundsson in front of NAC Breda goalkeeper Brondeel, after which the Icelander signed for his second of the evening with a subtle marker. After that, NAC Breda still went in search of the tying goal and was closest in the 73rd minute, but again it was Koopmans who got a hand to the ball.
