In the last game of the season, Young PSV did what it wanted to do: end the season honorably. For Albert Gudmundsson, the 5-1 victory by had an extra tinge, he crowned himself the club's top scorer for Young PSV against Achilles '29.
Pen
To take Psv U21's top scorer title, Albert Gudmundsson needed two goals. In less than half an hour, the Icelander had done the job. The first was the most beautiful. In the fourteenth minute, Gudmundsson outsmarted Achilles' goalkeeper Te Loeke with a brilliant stick. Ten minutes later, he headed in his second of the evening. That was already Young PSV's third, as in between, Joël Piroe had already put the 0-2 on the board from close range. Less polished, but no less important, because after the 0-2 the resistance of the formally already relegated Achilles seemed broken.
Fire
The fire flared briefly again, however, when right back Stankov made it 1-3 just before halftime. That continued in the second half, as in it Young PSV was a lot less dominant than before halftime. With a lot of fight, Achilles at least tried to give the crowd a nice last game. Achilles '29 had the ultimate chance for the tying goal in the 66th minute, but substitute Smajic worked a ball over the goal from close range. Just when Young PSV was in the difficult phase, it scored. Kenneth Paal hit the target and with that the realization slowly diminished in Groesbeek that Achilles' for now last Jupiler League match was over. Two minutes before time, Justin Lonwijk even scored the 1-5.
