Denzel Dumfries agreed with ESPN reporters that PSV - RKC Waalwijk was not a match that many football fans will remember in a few years. 'We won, that counts,' the PSV captain said.
Lesser start
Dumfries was asked by ESPN about PSV's start, which was not very good. Goalkeeper Yvon Mvogo had to make several saves, as did Lars Unnerstall earlier this week against FC Volendam. "We certainly didn't start well," Dumfries said. "But we kept the zero and scored twice. That counts. We felt it wasn't quite there today, but the most important thing was to win. We managed to do that."
Teze happy
Then ESPN's word was Jordan Teze. The defender has become almost impossible to imagine away from PSV's center, even though he had not appeared very often as an A-selection player at the beginning of this season. "I play a lot of matches and I think I'm doing well," Teze said. "In the preparation I rotated well. The coach asked me at the time if I was up for playing centrally. We bet on that from then on and I got a lot of confidence from it. I'm not easy-going, so I keep working hard for it."
