For the third time in a row, PSV and Ajax kick off the Dutch football season with a duel for the Super Cup. Gracenote sought out everything about the 30th edition of the Johan Cruijff Schaal.

PSV plays Saturday for the twentieth time for the Johan Cruijff Schaal, it remains the record holder. PSV also ran away with the main prize the most often: twelve times the Super Cup went to Eindhoven. That happened last year, when PSV was too strong for the Amsterdammers with 4-0. The goals then came from Noni Madueke (2', 29'), Yorbe Vertessen (76') and Mario Götze (89').

Mutual encounters
Ajax and PSV will meet for the 10th time in the Johan Cruijff Schaal. This makes it, by far, the most played match. PSV - Feyenoord follows with five editions. Three of the last four times PSV and Ajax met in the Super Cup, PSV walked away with the win.

Luuk and the Super Cup
If anyone has fond memories of the Johan Cruijff Schaal, it is Luuk de Jong. On Saturday he will play for the Super Cup for the sixth time, as many times as record holder Ronald Waterreus. In the previous five editions, he ran away with the top prize four times, including twice with PSV. With five goals, he is also top scorer, although he has to share this title with Mateja Kežman, Phillip Cocu and Jeremain Lens, among others.

Debut prize
Ruud van Nistelrooij can grab his first prize on Saturday on his official debut as head coach of PSV. Previously, only Hans Westerhof (1992) and Huub Stevens (2008) were able to do so. Ronald Koeman and Mark van Bommel missed out on the Johan Cruijff Schaal on their debuts.
