Ali Riza Aygün will resume his old spot as an esporter for PSV next season. Last year he fulfilled the role of coach and backup within PSV Esports, but from now on he will again represent PSV in the KPN eDivision.
Ali Riza is the most experienced esporter in the Netherlands. In 2017-2018 and 2020-2021 Ali Riza was already the best in the Netherlands and this year he will try to win this title for the third time. Furthermore, he has a chance to win tickets to the eChampions League and the World Cup. The four teams that reach the semifinals of the KPN eDivisie Finals qualify for the eChampions League. The two finalists of the KPN eDivision Finals qualify for the World Cup in addition to the eChampions League. So a total of four eChampions League and two World Cup tickets can be won through the eDivision. The prize money for the KPN eDivisie is €50,000 again this year.
eOrange international
The very first eOranje international is a child of the club. Coach of Ali Riza and former esporter Romal Abdi says about him, "Ali Riza has been with the club since 2017 and, as a true Eindhoven native, he is the face of PSV Esports. He is an example for young people on the digital pitch, but also outside it. He is the perfect ambassador for us. As an esporter he wants to prove that with his experience he still belongs among the best in the Netherlands." With Ali Riza as an esporter, PSV hopes to achieve the formulated goals for this season. Ali Riza was the face of PSV Esports for many years and is popular with the fans.
Format
The format of the eDivision has changed this season. There will no longer be two-on-two games, but instead it will simply be one-on-one again. Matches will now last nine minutes. That is three minutes longer than last season's matches.
Last season, Emre Yilmaz and Manuel Bachoore of Team Gullit, represented PSV Esports in the KPN eDivision and international competitions. Partly due to format changes, PSV decided to change course.
