PSV recorded its seventh win in a row in the Eredivisie. Phillip Cocu's team won 0-3 in Nijmegen against N.E.C. with convincing play and as a result it remains leader of the league with one point ahead of Ajax. PSV also scored for the fiftieth time in a row in the Dutch league. A record in professional football.

Willems serves De Jong
After a strong start by N.E.C., which mainly lurked on the counter and looked threatening in the first minutes, PSV quickly took the initiative in the match. Cocu's team demanded possession of the ball and, as the home side retreated to their own half, was able to control the Nijmegen side's half. Although the spaces there were small, PSV often found the free midfielder. The 0-1 involved one of those midfielders. With an excellent tackle, Pröpper captured the ball in the 17th minute and delivered it to Willems. For his part, the back showed that he had not lost his touch with crosses. With a wonderful kick, the king of last year's assist served De Jong, who nodded the ball behind goalkeeper Jones via a bounce: 0-1. Good goalkeeping by Zoet ensured that PSV could rest with that lead.

Locadia and Van Ginkel decisive
In the first phase after halftime, PSV forgot to lock up the match prematurely. As in the first half, the team easily found the free man in midfield and created chances. Among others through Locadia and Narsingh. The latter had the best opportunity with a shot from close range, but he only found Jones. After three quarters, however, the goalkeeper had to capitulate again. De Jong extended a corner kick from Willems with his head to Locadia, who in turn headed in the 0-2 from close range. Fifteen minutes before time, Van Ginkel decided the match definitively. The midfielder was the end of a combination between several PSV players and could easily slide the 0-3 behind Jones. With eleven matches left in the Eredivisie, PSV leads with 56 points. Ajax, which won 1-2 at FC Groningen on Sunday, has 55 points. The gap with number three Heracles Almelo has now increased to sixteen points.
