When it comes to games against De Graafschap at Philips Stadion, PSV has an excellent track record. PSV has played home Stadion against De Graafschap nineteen times before in league play and never lost. Of those nineteen encounters, fifteen were won and the game ended undecided four times. A historical retrospective.

Over four goals per game
PSV won the last nine home matches in the Eredivisie from De Graafschap, scoring as many as 38 times in them. That is an average of over 4.2 goals per game. Six of those goals fell in the encounter on Aug. 14, 2010. PSV won 6-0 on that day against the team from Doetinchem, who played almost the entire match with ten men because of a red card in the fourth minute for Purrel Fränkel. Ola Toivonen scored three goals that match, while Balazs Dzsudzsak, Nordin Amrabat and Ibrahim Afellay also accounted for the remaining goals.

Last meeting in 2012
The last time De Graafschap visited the Philips Stadium in an Eredivisie context was on Feb. 12, 2012. PSV won 4-1 at the time thanks to goals from Dries Mertens, Ola Toivonen, Tim Matavz and Jeremain Lens. Gil Vermouth saved the Doetinchem honor. Jetro Willems was there in that last encounter. The defender was replaced after 63 minutes by Wilfred Bouma. At De Graafschap, Ted van de Pavert came on after 38 minutes. The latter is now captain of the Superboeren.

Eight goals
PSV recorded its biggest home victory over De Graafschap on Nov. 18, 1995, when it finished 8-0. The goals were scored by Ronaldo (3), Phillip Cocu (2), Wim Jonk, René Eijkelkamp and Peter Hoekstra. Current assistant coach Chris van der Weerden also played ninety minutes in that game.
