Denzel Dumfries believes that PSV, himself at the forefront, should put their hands in their pockets after the 3-1 defeat at Feyenoord. At the same time, no PSV player agreed with the arbitration's verdict that prompted an early decision of the match.

PSV created more than enough opportunities to leave Rotterdam with (much) more than a defeat. Especially in the first half, the team was on top. Still, PSV was looking at a 2-0 deficit at halftime. "I think we created enough chances. In the chances we were not sharp," said Dumfries, who did not want to dismiss his attackers. "We need to be sharper to keep the zero. They are all very good players."

Penalty
Dumfries inadvertently led 2-0 with a foul that was punished with a penalty kick. There was little to criticize about that. "With that, I put my hand in my heart. That's a mistake I shouldn't make," Dumfries said. "The 3-0 also came from the spot and that penalty was dubious to say the least. Viergever got the ball shot hard against his arm from close range as he seemed to do everything he could to avoid hitting the ball. "That second penalty was ridiculous," Dumfries assessed. "He has no intention of blocking the ball with his hand. And it's from so close range. Scandalous, but of course we have to take advantage of the chances ourselves."

PSV's last away win dates back to October and the defeat at Feyenoord now puts the team fourth in the Eredivisie. Asked how to turn this around, Dumfries replied, "Two more games to give everything and then in the winter break we all have to evaluate."

Reward
"We need to reward ourselves for playing well," Nick Viergever felt. The defender saw PSV start excellently and still have the better of the game even after Feyenoord's 1-0. "This was unnecessary. We didn't let our heads hang, but didn't score." The mandker disagreed with referee Bas Nijhuis who penalized him for hands. "What should you do then? Defend with your hands behind your back? We have been told by the referees that that is not necessary. Well, then this is the best alternative. It's such a defining moment in the match. At 3-0, it's played. The VAR should have intervened."
