Captain Denzel Dumfries stumbled off the field after the game with Vitesse. Admittedly with a smile on his face and three points in his pocket, but visibly with a tired body. 'We have to rest at the right moments.'

Invaders
The captain said so to ESPN's camera. There was a lot going on Sunday about the word "rest," which Dumfries also mouthed. Head coach Roger Schmidt rested several key players and saw his substitutes take the game to themselves in the second half. "Ryan, Donyell and Mario are filling in fantastically. Very good," said Dumfries, who did not go along with the criticism his coach received when announcing the lineup.

Mistakes
"You just have to be smart by giving players rest at the right times. That's what the coach manages and he does it well." Dumfries also did not think the poor first half was down to his coach's choices. "That has nothing to do with that," he said. "Even when we play in other formations, we get the chances and goals against too easily. I'm not going to single out any individuals, but we just don't defend well enough as a team." Naive? "Yes. When you see that with a long ball they are one on one with our goalkeeper. We can't do that. We almost give away two goals. We have been critical internally and we have to show that. We all play at PSV and have to be capable enough."
