Every week Gracenote finds out all about the matches PSV plays. On Sunday, another home game is scheduled when SC Heerenveen visits. Earlier this season, the away game had another sizzling finale.

Match result
PSV lost out of the last 20 home matches against sc Heerenveen only once (W14-G5-V1). That happened on February 17, 2009 when Danijel Pranjic scored from the penalty spot in the 91st minute. In the 2000-2001 and 2014-2015 seasons, PSV took the national title after a home victory over the Frisians.

Out game
Earlier this season, the away game in Friesland ended in a 2-2 draw. Joël Piroe was able to salvage a point with a goal in the 92nd minute. Ibrahim Sangaré received a red card not much later after he made hands in the sixteen, but due to offside both the red card and the penalty went unanswered.

Clean sheets
PSV won the last three games and did not give up a single goal in this series. PSV can therefore win four in a row for the first time this season. The last time PSV won four in a row without conceding a goal was in 2018. Back then, Jeroen Zoet was still under the crossbar and managed to do so in five consecutive Eredivisie games.

Malen and Veerman
Donyell Malen scored fifteen of his seventeen Eredivisie goals from open play this season. Number two in that list is sc Heerenveen striker Henk Veerman. He scored thirteen times without needing a game-ending goal. Malen and Veerman also scored the opening goal six times this season. Along with Eran Zahavi and Danilo (FC Twente) the most often of any player.

Four teams on 37 points
The Frisians had a good start to the season with five wins in seven games. Since then, they have won four times in 23 matches (W4-G9-V10). This puts Johnny Jansen's team in tenth place with 37 points, just as many as FC Twente, Sparta and Fortuna Sittard.

Old acquaintance
In the match against FC Groningen, Denzel Dumfries picked up his fifth yellow card of the season. As a result, he is suspended next Sunday for the match against his old club. Also playing at sc Heerenveen is an old acquaintance from PSV. Siem de Jong played nineteen games for PSV in 2016-2017. In those, he scored six times.
