With his individual actions, explosiveness and chances created, Yorbe Vertessen had a nice part in the comeback against Sevilla FC. Despite coming into the lines as a substitute, the Belgian made his mark on the match with his actions.
Offensive duels
Yorbe came on for Hirving Lozano just before halftime. When Sevilla FC seemed to be running away with the win, the striker stood up. Not only was he successful in his passing with three successful dribbles, he also won seven attacking duels of the nine he fought against the Spaniards: the highest number of all PSV players.
Finding vanguard
With three ball touches in the enemy penalty area, he was emphatically involved in PSV's offensive play. Yorbe created two chances and got into scoring chances himself, with success. PSV's number 32 paid close attention to a cross from Jordan Teze in the 81st minute, chose position at the far post and headed the ball counterwise toward Sevilla FC goalkeeper Marko Dmitrović's goal. Nemanja Gudelj could not prevent Yorbe's effort from crossing his own goal line.
Ball contacts
The 22-year-old was in the game well and was often sought out by his fellow players. He had no less than 39 ball contacts and found his teammates 19 times. His most important pass of the match undoubtedly occurred deep in injury time of the second half: he accelerated past his direct opponent and found the head of Ricardo Pepi with a cross. The American headed PSV to 3-2.
