Damian Bott will join PSV as Manager of Marketing & Media as of February 25. The 35-year-old Bott succeeds Guus Pennings, who left the club in January after six years of service.

Focus on fan engagement
Bott is making the move from Swinkels Family Brewers (formerly Bavaria), where he was responsible for international digital strategy in recent years. At PSV, he will use his gained knowledge and experience to take fan engagement to the next level and further internationalize the PSV brand, says PSV commercial director Frans Janssen. "With his knowledge of both international and national markets and his past in building engagement platforms at, among others, energiedirect.nl and Bavaria, PSV is convinced that Bott is the right person to flesh this out," Janssen said.

PSV background
At Swinkels Family Brewers, Bott directed a team in recent years that was responsible for PSV-tinged campaigns, among other things. Examples include the Maradona advertisement at Philips Stadium and 'Bavaria, the beer of our PSV'. "I am enormously looking forward to involving supporters even more with my club," Bott responded. "In recent years I and my team at Swinkels Family Brewers have shown how digital can contribute greatly to brand objectives. I want to achieve the same at PSV. There is an incredibly beautiful foundation here. At the same time, I see opportunities to increase the value of and for the fan and put the PSV brand stronger in the market."

Data
With its background in data, PSV wants to use Bott to pursue an innovative way of marketing. In recent years, the club has already gained a great deal of insight into fans' needs. In the coming years, the club wants to deepen those insights and use them to further develop products and services to fully meet the needs of supporters. "In addition, Bott and his team will focus on internationalization and focus on the larger role PSV wants to play in the Brainport region. That is the future and fits his profile," Janssen concluded.
