PSV has broken open Nina Nijstad 's contract and extended it for three years. The midfielder cum defender was still on hold until the summer of 2025, but the club is now adding three more years.
Nina's first year with PSV Women can safely be called a resounding success. The player, who came over from sc Heerenveen last summer, has been a valuable base force all season. In nineteen matches in the Azerion Women's Eredivisie, she came up with three goals and as many assists. Last international period she was part of the OranjeLeeuwinnen for the first time, and now her contract is being extended as well.
While the ink on the contract is still drying, Nina talks about yet another milestone in her career. "It is a very special day and I am very happy that I can finally share it with the world. A four-year contract shows confidence and that makes me feel very good," said Nina, who cautiously looks ahead to the coming years. "The facilities are excellent, so I expect to make many steps in my development. As a team, of course we want to compete at the top and eventually take the title."
Defining player
"Since her arrival, Nina has developed into one of the defining players on our team," says Technical Manager Maud Roetgering. "We have the ambition to play for prizes every year. A stable selection strengthens our goals and Nina's extension is an important part of this. We are proud that she will also play for PSV in the coming years."
