Ismael Saibari has signed a contract that ties him to PSV until the summer of 2028. The midfielder cum striker moved up from Young PSV last season. Since then, he has developed into an important force for the main squad.
Ismael Saibari joined PSV Academy in 2020, where he immediately joined the promising team. In two seasons in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie, he asserted himself with nine goals and thirteen assists. In the first division Ismael developed into a versatile player who can play in several positions.
Roger Schmidt had Ismael make his debut in November 2020 against ADO Den Haag and in 2022-2023 he officially made the switch to the A-selection. There he started as an outfielder, but under Peter Bosz he became an attacking midfielder of value.
International
His talent was also noticed by Morocco's national team. The 22-year-old dribbler won the Africa Cup of Nations U23 in the summer. His good performance forced his participation in Morocco's first team, where he made his debut in September.
Eager to learn, stress-resistant and driven
The right-winger has now been rewarded with a contract extension. Director of Football Affairs Earnest Stewart is delighted with this: "Ismael is not only technically gifted, but he also possesses the other qualities that an excellent professional footballer must have; he is eager to learn, stress resistant and above all extremely driven. That combination makes him a player we definitely wanted to commit for longer."
Learned an awful lot
For his part, Ismael is happy that PSV is giving him their trust once again through an extension: "I have learned an awful lot in recent years. That has made me the player I am today. I look forward to also giving everything for this wonderful club in the coming years."
