Brabant meeting with RKC Waalwijk

Due to the postponement of PSV's match against FC Groningen, PSV will play its fourth league match in round five. RKC Waalwijk is the opponent here in this Brabant encounter. After ample wins over Apollon Limassol and reaching the group stage of the UEFA Europa League, PSV is ready to compete in Waalwijk.

For Jeroen Zoet, this is a special encounter. The PSV goalkeeper played two seasons in the service of the Waalwijkers. After his return to PSV, Zoet competed for a starting place with Przemysław Tytoń. Zoet came into action only once before against RKC Waalwijk, after returning from his tenure. PSV played an away game in Waalwijk with Zoet in the starting lineup, unfortunately this encounter ended in a 2-0 win for the home team.

Dennis Rommedahl
Former PSV player Dennis Rommedahl has been in the same situation as Jeroen Zoet, serving PSV with a rental period to RKC Waalwijk. He still follows the premier league and doesn't expect any big surprises Sunday: "From what I've seen, RKC Waalwijk is playing nice and fresh football, but it's not yielding much in terms of points yet. They are at the bottom anyway, but I don't think it looks that negative." Rommedahl predicts that PSV will be the stronger team in Waalwijk: "PSV did not start very strongly but you can see that rhythm is coming in now. It is becoming more stable and the level is going up. I don't expect any problems, but it's still football so you never know."

Surprise
Rommedahl thinks PSV's big surprise this season is the attack. "Young guys up front, a lot of their own youth. They still have a lot to learn but there is a lot of potential in them," says the former attacker. "If they keep the overview more, goals will come easier. You can see that now in the development of Donyell Malen. The 0-1 away against Apollon Limassol was a good example. He stayed calm, kept the overview and didn't go for his own success, but delivered the ball smartly. I'm really curious to see how the boys will develop further."

History
The last meeting with RKC Waalwijk ended in a disappointment for PSV. The team from Waalwijk won 2-3 after extension, sending PSV out of the race for the KNVB Cup last season. PSV does not usually have an easy time in Waalwijk. The last three Eredivisie matches at the Mandemakers Stadium between PSV and RKC Waalwijk ended in wins for the Waalwijkers.

RKC Waalwijk - PSV can be seen live on FOX Sports 1 and is under the direction of referee Kevin Blom. Kickoff at Mandemakers Stadium is at 8 p.m.
