The away match with NAC Breda ended in a loss for Psv U21. A stopped penalty kick by debutant Vincent Müller was not enough to bring in points. 2-1 was the final score.

Saving Müller
The match began without Cheick Touré. He had secured a starting spot but was injured in the warm-up. Nigel Thomas was his replacement and he immediately asserted himself. Five minutes after kickoff, Thomas played a deep ball to Kristófer Kristinsson. He played the cross and Thomas headed in for the opening goal and his first goal for PSV. NAC Breda, however, had a quick answer. Two minutes later, debutant goalkeeper Vincent Müller could not turn a Moreno Rutten effort. About fifteen minutes before halftime, goalkeeper Müller was put to the test again. Mathias Kjølø misjudged a defensive intervention and NAC Breda was awarded a penalty kick. The weakly inserted penalty was easily saved by the German goalkeeper and the score remained level. Kristinsson later came close to taking the lead, but his header went wide. The half-time score was tied.

Control
Young PSV started the opening phase of the second half very strongly. The team was well in control, which created several chances. Joël Piroe came to a great shooting opportunity but his effort went over the goal. NAC Breda put an end to Eindhoven's control. Ball loss at Young PSV produced a chance for the Breda side. Müller was unable to stop Lewis Fiorini's effort, 2-1. Fifteen minutes before the end, the Eindhoveners came to a number of opportunities via corner kicks, but the team was unable to take advantage of them.
