PSV will visit Feyenoord on Sunday afternoon at 2:30 pm. Head coach Phillip Cocu's team saw its lead on Ajax dwindle to five points after last week's draw against sc Heerenveen. A slip up at De Kuip is therefore anything but welcome.
Angstgegner
PSV has had a very difficult time at De Kuip in recent years. In the last seven duels in Rotterdam, the club managed to win only one. PSV's last away win over Feyenoord dates back to Jan. 17, 2016 (0-2).
Strong in away games
PSV is now unbeaten for nine Eredivisie games in a row and in the last four away games PSV scored at least twice in each match. Steven Bergwijn was one of the standouts in those matches, as the outfielder scored three times and delivered two assists. Mauro Junior also has a strong record in the past nine matches. The 18-year-old Brazilian has yet to lose with PSV and was responsible for four assists. If he delivers another assist at De Kuip, it will be his third in a row. The last PSV player to deliver more assists than Mauro Junior before the age of 19 was Zakaria Labyad (8).
Cocu, Van Bronckhorst
Phillip Cocu and Giovanni van Bronckhorst faced each other eight times as coaches in competitive matches. Cocu stepped off the field victorious four times and Van Bronckhorst three times. Once the match ended in a draw. Cocu and Van Bronckhorst were teammates at FC Barcelona during their careers as professional football players. In the 2003-2004 season, the men were employed by the Catalans under coach Frank Rijkaard. During their careers as players, Cocu and Van Bronckhorst faced each other seven times in the Eredivisie. Cocu never lost (W2-G5-V0). Cocu and Van Bronckhorst also played together in the Dutch national team for many years. Both men made four final tournaments together.
