PSV is the only team in the Eredivisie that has yet to drop any points and wants to keep it that way against N.E.C. To continue that run, it must win against the current number six this coming weekend. Last year, PSV was too strong at home with a 4-0 win over Nijmegen.
PSV has never lost at home to the team from Nijmegen. In professional football, N.E.C. was the opponent 45 times in home matches (40W-5G-0V). Last season, N.E.C. was the only team PSV lost to in the league. In the Goffertstadion it was then 3-1. Since then, PSV won ten of its eleven premier league games. It only drew 1-1 on a visit to Fortuna Sittard.
N.E.C. drew 2-2 earlier this year on visits to Feyenoord (Jan. 14) and Ajax (Feb. 18). Should it hold out Saturday in Eindhoven, it will be the first time N.E.C. has not lost an entire calendar year in away games to the traditional top three.
Goal scorers
In last season's 4-0 win, Luuk de Jong (37', 49' pen), Noa Lang (38') and Ricardo Pepi (87' pen) scored. In the away game, Johan Bakayoko scored the only PSV goal. With those two goals, Luuk has now scored 7 home goals against N.E.C. Only against PEC Zwolle (8) and sc Heerenveen (9) did he score more often at home.
Record
PSV has scored in each of its last 54 Eredivisie matches since a 1-0 defeat at FC Emmen on Jan. 24, 2023, equaling the Eredivisie record: PSV's run of 54 matches between October 2014 and March 2016. Against N.E.C., PSV can go on to improve this record.

Last season, PSV played in the home game against N.E.C. once again with Philips as the main sponsor. This season, the duel is dedicated to 80 years of the liberation of Eindhoven. In connection with this, there is a special text on the chest of the match shirt.
Absentees
At least PSV cannot use Hirving Lozano. The current top scorer of the Eredivisie (with 4 goals) is out of action due to a muscle injury. N.E.C. is missing first goalkeeper Robin Roefs. The goalkeeper was injured during the international period with the youngsters.
