PSV takes on PEC Zwolle in the twelfth round of the Eredivisie. The club maintains a good series against the promoted side and can go for a league record in the home game. To do so, the main squad must score at least three goals.

Opponent PEC Zwolle promoted to the Eredivisie last season after a year's absence. The Overijssel club has 14 points after 11 Eredivisie matches this season, which is the highest number for the Blauwvingers at this stage of the competition since 2017-2018. Back then, the number stood at 22 points.

Mutual results
PSV last competed against the Zwollenaren in the 2021-2022 season. Both matches were won by PSV. Visiting Zwolle, the team was too strong 2-1 through goals by Bruma and Richard Ledezma and at home they won 3-1. At the Philips Stadium, André Ramalho, Cody Gakpo and Olivier Boscagli took care of goal production on behalf of PSV.

The main squad won each of its fifteen league games played against PEC Zwolle since 2014. Only against Willem II (eighteen between 2004 and 2015) did PSV also have a winning streak of at least 15 games in the Eredivisie.

Rain of goals
PSV found the net at least three times in each of its last 10 games in the Eredivisie. This season, PSV only failed to do so in its opening game against FC Utrecht (2-0 victory). Should Head Coach Peter Bosz 's formation be so goal-rich again against PEC Zwolle, it will become the first club to score at least three goals in more than ten consecutive Eredivisie games. PSV (in 1987) and Ajax (in 1993-1994) also achieved a run of ten.

A favorite of Luuk
Luuk de Jong made against no club as many goals as against PEC Zwolle (thirteen in nine games). Against the Overijssel club, PSV's captain finds the net on average every 62 minutes in the Eredivisie. No other striker in PEC Zwolle's club history had to take so many goals against: Peter Houtman (eleven), John Eriksen (ten) and Bryan Linssen (ten) are the only other players in double figures.

Luuk (117) needs two more goals to join Coen Dillen (119) in second place in PSV's perennial top scorer list in the Eredivisie. Willy van der Kuijlen holds the club record (308) and also the Eredivisie record (311).

In good form
PSV has won all its league games so far. It is the fifth time in Eredivisie history that a team has managed this. With this, PSV equals its own performance from 1987-1988 (seventeen) and 2018-2019 (thirteen) and that of Ajax from 1995-1996 (twelve) and 1997-1998 (eleven).

PSV is on a run of 27 Eredivisie matches without defeat (W23-G4-V0), since losing 1-0 on Jan. 24 at home to FC Emmen. There have been four previous unbeaten streaks of at least 27 Eredivisie matches this century: PSV (35, 2000-2001), PSV (32, 2009-2010), Ajax (30, 2020-2021) and AZ (28, 2008-2009).

Familiar faces
PEC Zwolle's shirt features some familiar faces from PSV. Midfielder Ryan Thomas, for example, made the switch to PSV in 2018, for whom he played 33 matches and scored four goals. In midfield, he is often assisted by Davy van den Berg, who played for PSV Academy between 2008 and 2019.
