The home game against Feyenoord will count as the fourth mutual meeting of the season. Last year this exact encounter turned into a true spectacle. Because PSV had their air force in order, the points stayed in Eindhoven.

The last meeting ended in a 1-0 defeat, but the other two meetings were won. Noa Lang shot the A-selection to its first prize of the season, the Johan Cruijff Schaal. In league play, goals from Ismael Saibari and Olivier Boscagli ensured a three-point win at De Kuip. The latter can play his 100th Eredivisie game Sunday afternoon, joining a special list.

4-3
The previous edition of PSV - Feyenoord was a true thriller. It was 3-3 after 82 minutes of playing time on Sept. 18, 2023, when Armando Obispo towered high above his rival at a corner. The central defender headed PSV to a three-peat, after Guus Til and Jarrad Branthwaite also scored from a cross. This marked the same result as in 2014-2015. Then Memphis Depay shot PSV to a 4-3 victory in the final minute.

Boss on own field
Should Head Coach Peter Bosz 's formation go on to triumph for the 21st time this season, another record will be broken. PSV can win the first 12 home games in a single Eredivisie season for the second time in the club's history. Feyenoord were defeated 10-0 at Philips Stadium in October 2010, the biggest win to PSV's name in the Eredivisie. In each of the last 19 home games, the Main Force scored at least two goals. That equals the club record from season 1987-1988.

Hard to beat
From the start of 2023, the A-selection lost only two matches on Dutch soil. A few months ago they lost the cup game in Rotterdam-Zuid and the loss against FC Emmen on January 24, 2023. There were 40 wins and nine draws. PSV can win at home against the stadium club for the first time since 2014/2015 (4-3) and 2015/2016 (3-1) in consecutive Eredivisie campaigns.

PSV has been warned
Feyenoord are likely to start Sunday with Timon Wellenreuther under the crossbar. With the German in goal, coach Arne Slot's team has yet to lose a single game in the Eredivisie (W18-G2). Before Thursday night's game against FC Groningen (2-1) Feyenoord went seven games without conceding a goal. The longest run the Rotterdammers have recorded since the turn of the century.
