PSV has been unbeaten against Go Ahead Eagles in the Eredivisie for 39 years. The last time PSV went down against the team from Deventer was in 1983. Then PSV lost 2-1. Hallvar Thoresen shot PSV into the lead in the 34th minute, but in the end PSV lost. Against current Eredivisionists, PSV only has a longer unbeaten streak against Excelsior (25 games since 1985).

The most memorable edition of PSV - Go Ahead Eagles undoubtedly took place on October 13, 1973. Then the Eagles won 10-0. All time top scorer Willy van der Kuijlen, scored four goals. For Go Ahead Eagles, it is the biggest defeat in an official game since the introduction of professional football.
