PSV will visit Almere City for the third time in history this weekend. The club maintains an unbeaten status against last season's number thirteen. In 2023-2024, Almere City did not even manage to score against PSV.

Last year's two Eredivisie matches were both won by PSV: 0-4 on Sept. 23, 2023, and 2-0 on Jan. 27, 2024. The only other game against the Flevoland club was played on Oct. 29, 2014, then an encounter in the TOTO KNVB Beker. PSV won 5-1 at the Yanmar Stadion.

Goal scorers
Last season, Guus Til (26'), Hirving Lozano (42'), Joey Veerman (66') and Ricardo Pepi (90+3') were goalscoring in Almere. At home Luuk de Jong was the celebrated man with 2 goals.

25/28
Almere City's home ground is one of only three stadiums Luuk de Jong has played an Eredivisie game in, but never scored in. VVV-Venlo's Koel (4 matches) and Fortuna Sittard Stadion (1 match) are the other two. Our captain scored in 25 of the 28 stadiums where he played a Dutch league game.

Johan Bakayoko
Scoring goals is going well this season Johan Bakayoko. The outfielder was a goal-scorer in the first two games. He could become the first player to score in each of PSV's first 3 games of an Eredivisie season since Hirving Lozano in 2017-2018.

With 11 league goals in 2024, the Belgian is in a tie for second place with Sam Lammers and Vangelis Pavlidis. Only Luuk de Jong was more frequent, scoring 17 times.

Season start
PSV has a perfect score with 6 points from the first 2 games. Almere City just lost both duels. In the first round of play AZ was too strong with 1-0 and in the second they lost 3-0 to Fortuna Sittard. Last season, Almere City lost the first four games, but finished in a tidy 13th place.

On the opponent's side, two players are suspended: Ricardo Visus and Baptiste Guillaume. At PSV, everyone is regulation eligible.
