In the second round of the Eredivisie, PSV takes on a red-and-white-tinged Vitesse. Coincidentally, both teams have a Head Coach who was also once in charge of the opposing team.
PSV can win an away match at Vitesse on Saturday night for the 20th time in history. Although it left there empty-handed only three times, it drew no less than 16 times (W19-G16-V3). That happened as recently as March of this year. Xavi Simons signed for the lead after just seven minutes, but an own goal by Ibrahim Sangaré meant the game had no winner.
Unbeaten run
The main squad is currently on an impressive run. Indeed, it is unbeaten in its last 21 official matches (W17-G4-V0). The last defeat dates back to February, when it lost 3-0 to Sevilla in the UEFA Europa League. The last time PSV remained unbeaten for so long was in 2011. Then they did not lose 22 duels in a row.
Coach change
From 2013 to 2016, Peter Bosz was at the helm in Arnhem and Phillip Cocu was PSV's head coach from 2013 to 2018. With that division of roles, they faced each other five times, of which Cocu emerged victorious four times.

Red and white tinge
The head coach is not the only red-and-white tinge at the club from Arnhem. Marco van Ginkel (2), Davy Pröpper (1), Eloy Room (1), Nicolas Isimat-Mirin (3) all became national champions with PSV. In addition, Mathijs Tielemans has also been under contract with Vitesse since this season. The Veldhoven native went through PSV's entire youth training program.
Patrick van Aanholt Played on a rental basis at Vitesse from 2012 to 2014. The left-back was rented from Chelsea FC, which then sold him to Sunderland AFC. In total, Patrick played 84 games for the Arnheimers.
Seasonstart
Vitesse managed a 2-1 win over FC Volendam last week. The yellow-blacks first came behind, but through goals by Tielemans and Van Ginkel a good start of the season was realized.
Captain of Young PSV
Mathijs Tielemans played 77 First Division matches for Young PSV. Only five players played more games for the promising team. The midfielder told ESPN that he hopes to one day make his official debut for PSV.
