Luuk de Jong played five Eredivisie matches in red and white against NEC. In those, he has always proved effective. Indeed, in each of those five encounters he was good for exactly one goal.
Strong after lead
Both NEC and PSV can take credit for a record. In fact, NEC (W7-G4-V0) and PSV (W16-G4-V0) are the only two clubs this season that have not yet suffered an Eredivisie defeat after taking a lead.

Bas Roorda, team manager of PSV, was goalkeeper for both PSV and NEC. In total he kept 137 official matches for these clubs.
Tumultuous situation
Three PSV icons Ruud van Nistelrooij, Luc Nilis and Mark van Bommel once played in NEC's shirt. Just before kickoff of the 1999 NEC - PSV game, the arbitration rejected PSV's match shirt. As a result, the PSV players had to play the first half in the Nijmegen side's away shirt.
