The busy schedule resumes after the international break. PSV will visit NEC on Saturday night. PSV has won the last ten Eredivisie matches against NEC and therefore has the best credentials. Yet De Goffert proves to be a true fortress.

PSV are themselves unbeaten for eight rounds and will visit Nijmegen, who have been unbeaten at home since the second round. A game that can go either way. PSV will play an away match against Nijmegen for the 42nd time. 22 times PSV stepped off the field as winner and thirteen times both teams got one point. NEC won six times.

Three points
Earlier this season, PSV recorded a 3-0 win against NEC at home. Anwar El Ghazi (18'), Luuk de Jong (50') and Noni Madueke (84') were the goal scorers. Last season, Carlos Vinícius decided the away game in De Goffert in the last minute after a special assist from Maxi Romero (1-2).

Effective
Luuk de Jong played five Eredivisie matches in red and white against NEC. In those, he has always proved effective. Indeed, in each of those five encounters he was good for exactly one goal.

Strong after lead
Both NEC and PSV can take credit for a record. In fact, NEC (W7-G4-V0) and PSV (W16-G4-V0) are the only two clubs this season that have not yet suffered an Eredivisie defeat after taking a lead.

Old acquaintance
Bas Roorda, team manager of PSV, was goalkeeper for both PSV and NEC. In total he kept 137 official matches for these clubs.

Tumultuous situation
Three PSV icons Ruud van Nistelrooij, Luc Nilis and Mark van Bommel once played in NEC's shirt. Just before kickoff of the 1999 NEC - PSV game, the arbitration rejected PSV's match shirt. As a result, the PSV players had to play the first half in the Nijmegen side's away shirt.
