PSV1

In the catch-up game with Go Ahead Eagles, Head Coach Peter Bosz 's team can keep the zero for the fourth time in a row. If that succeeds, PSV only conceded one goal in its first six games. The previous two times that happened it became a special season.

PSV lost only one of the 34 duels the club has played against Go Ahead Eagles in all competitions since 1980 (W32-G2-V1). It stepped off the field without points only in an away game in 1983. At home it remained unbeaten. PSV took the spoils against the Deventenes twice last season thanks to a 5-2 away win and a 2-0 victory in Eindhoven. Joey Veerman was a goal-scorer in both encounters. The second goal in the home game came from the now departed Anwar El Ghazi.

Eagles
Like PSV, Go Ahead Eagles is enjoying a good start to the season. Thus, for the first time since 1985-1986 (W3-G0-V2), it has won at least three of the first five games of an Eredivisie season. In 1981-1982, the club last stood at four wins after six Eredivisie games played. For Go Ahead Eagles' last win on a visit to PSV, however, we have to go back to November 3, 1968 (0-1). Oeki Hoekema scored the only goal of the match then.

Historic duel
On October 13, 1973, PSV won 10-0 over Go Ahead Eagles at home. Mister PSV Willy van der Kuijlen scored four goals that day. It is still the biggest defeat for Go Ahead Eagles in an official game since the introduction of professional football.

Without a loss
With last Saturday's victory over Almere City FC, PSV 1 extended its unbeaten league series to 21 games. With a win over the club from Overijssel, PSV can record its longest unbeaten run in the Eredivisie, since a run of 32 between March 2009 and February 2010.

Large figures
PSV recorded three 4-0 wins in the last three duels, with RKC Waalwijk, NEC and Almere City FC respectively. This allows the club to win at least four consecutive Eredivisie matches for the third time with a margin of at least four goals.

The zero
With only one goal conceded in the first five Eredivisie play-offs, PSV is also showing few flaws defensively. Only in 2002-2003 (1) and 2007-2008 (1) did PSV have only one goal against after six Eredivisie games played. PSV became national champions in both seasons. Should PSV keep the zero on Wednesday, it will be the fourth game in a row. The club last did so in the September-October 2018 period (five in a row).

Old acquaintance

Go Ahead Eagles midfielder Philippe Rommens is a familiar face within PSV. He was accepted into PSV Academy in 2006, as an E-pupil. He then went through all the youth teams and played 55 matches for Young PSV between 2014 and 2018. He already scored four goals and gave one assist this season.
