Ajax on steam after victory in Klassieker

After the victory over Feyenoord, Ajax seems loose. The Ajacians won against AZ, N.E.C. Nijmegen and sc Heerenveen by large numbers and reached the semifinals of the Europa League by eliminating Schalke. Yet the latter actually offers perspective for PSV.

European
Indeed, Ajax lost points eight times this premier league season: six times by a draw and twice by a loss. Ajax lost half of the points in an away game after a European match on weekdays. In addition, club leading scorer Kasper Dolberg scored only one of his fourteen goals in an away game. That was in the match against Feyenoord.

Opening
Captain Davy Klaassen, on the other hand, does like to travel outside Amsterdam. Together with Ricky van Wolfswinkel, he scored nine opening goals this season, making him the leader in the Eredivisie. He scored seven of those goals in away matches. If Klaassen opens the scoring for Ajax one more time in an away game, he will take a new Eredivisie record.

Tease Klaassen
PSV is therefore committed to restraining Klaassen, something that did not succeed in the match in the ArenA earlier this season. Then, too, Klaassen scored the opening goal, in the game that eventually ended 1-1.

Assist
In addition, PSV - Ajax is the game of the assist kings. Andrés Guardado gave five assists in PSV's last three home matches. As a result, he now stands at ten assists in total and needs two more assists to match leader Hakim Ziyech. Should Guardado aspire to that leading position, there is no better game than PSV - Ajax to lend force to that ambition.
