The report
This Saturday the last game for PSV O19, in a busy week of three games in nine days. After this, most of the boys are going away for an international week. On this rainy Saturday, coach Mark van Bommel's boys had to face the Superboeren from Doetinchem. De Graafschap had only collected one point in four matches, PSV's goal was to end the week with nine points.
PSV got off to a rough start to the match, which meant the best chances were for De Graafschap. The guests were awarded a penalty kick in the 31st minute, which was almost caught by PSV goalkeeper Youri Roulaux. After the 0-1 deficit, PSV got no further than a shot on the edge of the 16 meters by Cody Gapko before halftime. After halftime, a very different PSV came out of the starting blocks and the 0-1 deficit was turned into a 3-1 lead within 15 minutes. The goals came from Justin Lonwijk, after good preparatory work by Cody Gapko, and two goals from Joël Piroe, one of which came from a penalty kick. De graafschap was out of the game, resulting in a 5-1 final score. The last two goals came from Joël Piroe again from eleven meters and Zakaria Aboukhlal.
After the international week, PSV O19 boys will play a practice match at home against KV Mechelen on Oct. 10.
