    PSV takes point in extremis

Saturday was the beautiful away match against Feyenoord. Dirk Kuyt's team had to win to still have a claim on the title and the boys from Eindhoven wanted to recover after the slightly lesser period. PSV started the match well, in the ninth minute Damian Timan was brought down on the edge of the penalty area. A free kick followed and Nigel Thomas took advantage of this opportunity. He curled the ball beautifully around the wall into the goal: 0-1. With this lead PSV had a few more small opportunities. Feyenoord did not sit still either and created a few chances. In the 31st minute a volley from a cross went just past the goal. Yet PSV were unable to hold onto their lead before the break. A low cross in the 36th minute left Kyan van Dorp without a chance. With a 1-1 score we went to rest.

Feyenoord started the second half stronger than the boys from Eindhoven. That resulted in a 2-1 lead in the 54th minute through Wouter Burger. Ruud van Nistelrooy's boys straightened their backs after this setback with a lot of fight and good football. A free kick by Thomas in the 63rd went just wide. A short corner in the 85th minute went to Dennis Vos. However, the defender forgot to score, as he hesitated to shoot. In the 86th minute Timan laid the ball ready for Madueke, who shot high over and time was running out. The game seemed to be coming to an end and in the 93rd minute Feyenoord was awarded a free kick twenty meters from the goal. After a Feyenoord player shot into the hands of goalkeeper Van Dorp, he quickly resumed play and the ball found its way to Madueke via a number of drives. This accelerated past his opponent and was brought down in the penalty area, penalty PSV! Madueke got behind the ball himself and made the deserved equalizer. A point for PSV O19 and hopefully the way up again.

The next match is on Saturday, April 6 at 2 p.m. against Vitesse O19.
