  1. Match report

Today the league game away against Vitesse, so we can show the first team of PSV how to do it, because they are also playing away against Vitesse tonight. On paper this should be doable for the boys of PSV U13, but after a week's vacation you never know how things stand.
After the first whistle of the referee it is clear that both teams have been instructed to keep the points with their team today. The first chance is already in the 1st minute for Vitesse, but the post helps PSV, otherwise it would have been a quick deficit. The 2nd chance is for PSV, Jaivy on individual class gets to the back line and returns the ball well, after which Jesper immediately takes a shot, inside the post, but the goalkeeper can only just get his hand against it. And this after 2 minutes, we sit up and take notice. The first 10 minutes the game was going up and down at a high pace, but then PSV got a bit more grip on the game. PSV puts very high pressure which makes it difficult for Vitesse to get out. There are quite a few people from the KNVB present around the pitch, who can see here what high pressure means. A free kick by Milan is not good enough, and can easily be worked out of the 16 by Vitesse, but it is Sven who almost scores with his head from the deflected ball, but the ball falls on top of the roof of the goal. Most of the time the ball is in Vitesse's half. PSV can blame themselves because the midfield gives away too much space in the transition, but now and then Vitesse manages to play under the pressure of PSV. But after an attractive first half, both teams rested with a 0-0 score.
After halftime it is Vitesse that starts brighter as PSV and then immediately gets a great chance. Did Vitesse come out of the dressing room sharper than PSV? For the first 10 minutes after halftime, Vitesse remains the superior side. Is PSV impressed by the physically strong striker that Vitesse brought in, this striker is physically quite a bit further along than the rest and inspires quite a bit of awe. But also chances for PSV, Jesper sends Ruben away who in turn passes the ball just before the back line, right in front of the goal, but unfortunately the PSV attacking line is too late to connect. Vitesse started to try more and more with long balls to get to their weapon in the front and take advantage of that, but the PSV defense got more and more under control. In the 50th minute we got the goal we were waiting for, Shijon got the ball in front of the goal and Jesper hit it dry and hard into the net, 0-1. Vitesse now went all out to score the equalizer, Kjell made a good save on a Vitesse free kick. Vitesse is of course dangerous at every corner, with a striker who does not have to jump above everyone, but perhaps PSV can take advantage in the transition. In the 53rd minute another corner for Vitesse, PSV manages to clear the ball quickly from the 16 meters, the ball gets to Ruben who throws it into the depths himself and goes after it. And then we know he can't be kept up with so Ruben crosses Vitesse's half with a Vitesse player at his back and passes the goalkeeper like he's not there and scores the liberating 0-2. In the 90 minute it was Chahid who could have made it 0-3 but shot the ball high over at the 2nd post.
Not the best match today for PSV, but if the football is not going well you can always work hard together and fight for the points, and the boys certainly did that and that is also a quality that is needed to reach the top. So with these boys it will be alright.
Next week the home game against Feyenoord, come and see that 11:00 am at the Herdgang spectacle guaranteed. See you then.
