Cup win at FC Den Bosch for PSV O14

Like for most teams, PSV O14 also had a cup game on the schedule last Saturday. The O14 did not have to travel that far this time, FC Den Bosch had emerged from the draw. During the match it was clear that the balance of power was not equal. It was one-way traffic towards the FC Den Bosch goal. Yet PSV only managed to score three goals, partly due to the good defense of Den Bosch.

From the first minute it was clear that PSV was the superior side, but FC Den Bosch, by playing very compact, did not allow it to become a goal-fest. But PSV also handled the chances sloppily. There were plenty of shots on goal, but they never became dangerous. The closest to a goal was Rodin Oesterholt, who managed to hit the crossbar with a hard header. In the ^26th minute it finally hit the target, Rodin recaptured the ball, passed it to Dichano Bulo, who in turn saw that Raf Vullers was in a better position, played the ball through, Raf did not think twice and slid the ball in, 0-1. A few minutes before the halftime signal there is another big chance for Isaï Middag, Rens Boon delivers a perfect cross, Isaï wants to take a shot, but doesn't hit the ball properly, otherwise I think we could have scored a world goal.

In the second half the same picture as before the break, a dominant PSV pushing FC Den Bosch far back, but not scoring enough. In the ^43rd minute it is Alseny Cisse who shoots the ball convincingly from the rebound after a good cross from Gino Verhulst, 0-2. A few minutes later it is Gino who puts very good pressure, recovered the ball well, then it is a simple trick for Gino to score himself, 0-3. PSV did try to increase the score even further, but failed to score more goals.

Although the score could have been higher, PSV can look back on a good match. Den Bosch was well organized and kept the field small, which made it difficult for PSV to score. Now we have to wait and see who will qualify for the next round of the cup. Next week a tough test for the league awaits, the first league game being a tough one. At Feijenoord we will have to fight for the three points.
